My cat absolutely hates this track. As soon as the first bass note comes in, she runs away in a panic.

About a year ago, I purchased a sample pack by saxophone player Joseph Shabason. Its grainy yet dreamy saxophone snippets were perfect for a project I was working on at the time. Not sure what happened though, but I didn’t end up using the set, and it stayed on my hard drive, unused.

Fast forward to March 2026… I finally decided to give it a go and use the sample pack for a new track, using its files as the only building material. I’m happy to present the result: Bass Noah (yes, that’s an anagram). It’s not exactly a happy song, but if you’re not a cat, you might enjoy it.
