Audio-visual performance and video

Waalsekerk is a project created for Festival ‘Kunst in het Witte de Withkwartier’ 2015. The church itself (De Waalse Kerk) is a unique national monument in the centre of Rotterdam. During the festival in september 2015 Pierdrie gave six performances in the church. This special venue where the performance took place formed the inspiration. Pierdrie (Marco Douma, Roel Meelkop and Rutger Zuydervelt) investigated the place in the weeks prior to this weekend and made image and sound recordings. Images and sounds were taken inwards, to enter into a subtle interplay with enhanced hidden sounds of the building itself.
